How To Play Popol and Kupa Jungler - Mobile Legends

Popol and Kupa serve as Marksman heroes in Mobile Legends. Popol, known for his mischievous ways since childhood, grew up in the forest and honed his skills as a hunter. Kupa, on the other hand, is the Frost Wolf, a wild creature Popol encountered in the woods. Understanding the backstory of Popol and Kupa in Mobile Legends is essential.

The Story of Popol and Kupa Mobile Legends

The Feldan, a typical nomadic tribe, dwell in the heart of the Northern Vale. Like most locals, they reside near the forest, leading tranquil lives as hunters. However, there was an outlier: Popol. Known as the tribe's playful prankster and adventurer, he consistently captured everyone's attention. Unlike the serene and composed Northern Vale inhabitants, he was brimming with energy and creativity. Popol, trained in the Northern Vale warrior ways, had been adept at spear throwing from a young age. He frequently accompanied the adults on hunts, often returning with a cart laden with game. His most cherished moments were spent listening to the adults sing of legendary heroes over drinks. Popol aspired to be like those heroes, hoping that one day, songs would be sung about 'Popol the Brave.'

However, Popol's tribesmen dismissed his ambitions, mocking them as mere childish fantasies. Unable to bear the ridicule, Popol set various cunning traps to win their admiration. This backfired, causing the villagers, particularly the children, to view him as an oddity and distance themselves from him. As his alienation grew, so did his desperation for attention, leading him to devise even more pranks and traps. Yet, this only furthered the adverse effect. Ultimately, he found himself friendless. In a state of solitude and despair, he resolved to undertake a remarkable deed to redeem his reputation.

During a dark night, Popol departed from the village and headed into the mountains. His aim was to slay the fearsome Frost Wolf by himself to gain admiration from his peers. As he navigated through the thick forest, he examined his surroundings with curiosity. However, in the darkness, he lost his way and tumbled into a trap.

The first thing he saw at the bottom of the pit was a pair of green glowing eyes, which frightened him greatly. But when moonlight shone into the trap, she saw the owner of the eyes, a trapped Frost Wolf whom she named Kupa. One of his front legs was caught in the beast trap and due to starvation, he could barely move. Popol could have finished Kupa right then and there, but when he raised his spear, he saw the same loneliness in Kupa's eyes. If he finished Kupa, he would be completely alone with the darkness inside this trap. Hesitantly, he put down the spear and tried to help Kupa.

At first, they were wary and aggressive towards one another. However, as time passed, the two solitary beings gradually dropped their defenses and acknowledged their kinship. The animal traps served as a catalyst for their burgeoning friendship. Driven by their solitude, Popol began to see Kupa as a confidant and companion, even engaging in playful acts like tossing snowballs over her head.

But at this moment, Kupa was almost starving to death. Popol looked a little hesitant for a moment before sharing the food he had brought with the dying Kupa. However, Popol decided to feed Kupa and Kupa eventually survived the famine, in his mind, all humans were cold and cruel like hunters. There was always a life and death situation between them and Fros Wolf. But Popol was different. Having only ever been alone and hunted in the forest since he was born, Kupa felt kindness and warmth for the first time from Popol.

Days passed, and the two created a little friendship. But the first visitors were not the people who came to rescue them, but a group of vultures. They flocked into the trap and started attacking. Popol threw spears at the vultures, but he could not drive them away while Kupa could only fight aimlessly with one trapped foot.

Under constant attack from the vultures, they became a meal for the birds. At this dangerous moment, Popol took an extraordinary decision, he threw his spear and with all his might, tore through the beast trap, to help Kupa escape.

With his defences exposed, he was caught by the vultures and lifted from the trap into the air. Just as Popol's hope was lost, there was a loud roar like a thunderclap. Kupa leapt out of the hole and bit the vulture, freeing Popol from its grip.

Now, with the two fighting side by side, Popol and Kupa showcase their incredible synergy and drive away all the vultures once and for all. Henceforth, they became the best partners in adventure. They travelled the frozen land and together, began a new chapter of adventure.

Skill of Popol and Kupa

Passive – Iceland Companions

Popol and Kupa always fight together. It's crucial for Popol to take good care of Kupa. If Kupa avoids taking damage for 5 seconds, it will gradually regain 10% of its maximum HP every second.

When Kupa dies, Popol can revive her within 3 seconds by using her first skill with a cooldown of 45 seconds.

After Kupa launches four consecutive attacks on the enemy, Popol's basic attack will deal additional physical damage (+200% Total Physical Attack). Meanwhile, Kupa will inherit 100% of Popol's maximum HP and other attributes, along with the effects of items (excluding active items, jungling, and roaming).

Kupa's presence is essential for Popol to be able to unleash his maximum abilities. Without Kupa, Popol's ability as a Marksman will be reduced by more than 50% from the initial design.

In terms of gameplay, you can only control Popol. While Kupa you can only control with Popol's skills. Care for your friends! It is very important to always maintain Kupa's health bar. Summoning Kupa takes a long time, which is 3 seconds. So make sure you do it in a safe place. Similar to Aurora, the indicator below your HP bar shows the number of auto-attack stacks. Use these attacks on important targets.

Skill 1 – Bite ‘Em, Kupa

This skill can make Popol throw a spear at the target with physical damage 40/70/100/130 (+ 100% Total Physical Damage) and order Kupa to bite the target by dealing 240/270/300/330 Physical Damage (+ 60% Total Physical Damage) for 3 seconds.

In Alpha Wolf form: Kupa attacks ferociously, delivering a 1-second stun and 3 quick bites.

Kupa is inseparable from Popol. Most of the damage comes from Kupa, whose basic damage is 100% greater than Popol's auto attack.

In Alpha Wolf Form, Kupa's attacks will be even better. With three quick bites, he is the only source of burst damage for this hero.

Skill 2 – Kupa, Help!

Popol can summon Kupa to protect him, gain a Shield equivalent to 240/270/300/330 (+ 120% extra Physical Damage) HP, deal 240/270/300/330 (+ 50% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage, to nearby enemies, and deal a 60% slow effect for 0.5 seconds. Kupa will assist Popol in attacking nearby enemies for 3 seconds.

In Alpha Wolf form: Kupa returns to protect his master and knocks nearby enemies Airborne for 0.6 seconds, dealing 150% increased damage.

As a Marksman without the ability to reposition, Kupa's skill Help! aims to protect Popol when opposing melee heroes or assassins approach you.

Since you can't control Kupa as a unit, you can use this skill to pull her out of battle to save her from death or damage from your opponent. Otherwise, you can also move away which will automatically make Kupa run back towards you.

Skill 3 – Popol’ Surprise

Popol can create a device at a predetermined location and will explode after a while when the enemy is near the trap, presenting a stun for 1 second, creating a slow effect for 4 seconds, and reducing the opponent's movement speed by 35%.

Popol can store up to 3 traps at once with a charge time per device of 18/16/14/12 seconds. Each trap will last up to 60 seconds and will disappear if it doesn't hit an enemy.

This is Popol and Kupa's most underrated ability and can be the difference between skilled and highly skilled players. Use this skill first in the middle of a team-fight for greater success.

Like Selena's Abyssal Trap, Popol Surprise can provide vision of the position of opponents who step on the trap anywhere on the map.

This Popol Surprise skill can be a second lifesaver and is especially useful when Kupa is taken down by an opponent, where you have to save yourself. Place one trap around you when running away, or place one in front of the enemy in a chasing position.

Always place traps under the turret as an obstacle to opponents coming to destroy it.

Set up a trap at one point while your team is focused on defense to prevent enemies from entering the base.

Skill 4 or Ultimate – We Are Angry!

This skill can make Popol and Kupa get increased abilities for 12 seconds. Popol and Kupa get 30%/40%/50% Attack Speed and 15% Movement Speed. Kupa can also enter Alpha Wolf mode, recover full HP, increase her Max HP to 2000/3000/4000, Physical Damage by 35, and increase other abilities.

When activating his ultimate, Kupa will restore full HP. You can maximize this by using it mid-battle after Kupa has taken some damage.

The extra movement speed can help you pull off better and can be used to help you escape from difficult situations.

Cons of Popol and Kupa Mobile Legends

Kupa Dies Easily

A significant drawback of Popol and Kupa is that improper management of Kupa can lead to it being easily eliminated by the enemy. This issue can be quite challenging when playing as Popol and Kupa; however, it is not insurmountable. By gaining a deeper understanding of the mechanics of this marksman hero, you can effectively mitigate this weakness.

Weak in the Absence of Kupa

Popol becomes quite weak in the absence of Kupa. Therefore, Popol must pray first to bring Kupa back. Without Kupa, the damage given by Popol is not too big, of course this is a drawback of Popol and Kupa in a gameplay.
