Ten Common Errors to Avoid in Parenting

Undesirable child behavior is universally frowned upon, particularly by parents. However, many parents do not realize that such behavior often stems from their own mistakes in raising their children.

This time is the opportunity to highlight some detrimental parenting practices. It is important to acknowledge that much of children's negative behavior can be attributed to parental actions and the broader environment.

Let's recognize 10 parental mistakes in parenting

1. If your child is lying, it could be because you are overreacting to a mistake they made in the past.

2. If your child is irritable, the reason may be that you don't praise them enough when they do well. They only get attention when they behave badly.

3. If your child does not defend himself, it is because since childhood you have often scolded them

in public. Parents should not do so even in front of siblings, friends or cousins.

4. If your child has low self-esteem, it is because you are counselling them more than you are encouraging or challenging them.

5. If your child is easily envious, the reason may be that you often compare them to others.

6. If your child is timid, it could be because you are helping them too quickly. Don't remove every obstacle they face.

7. If your child deliberately annoys you, it's because you rarely pay attention to them.

8. If your child doesn't respect the feelings of others, the reason may be that you are always ordering them around and don't care about their feelings.

9. If your child is introverted, the reason is because you often bring up problems.

10. If your child behaves violently, it could be learnt from you or others who live with them.
