The Deer and the Lion

Once upon a time, there was a northern forest ruled by a strong and tough King, the Lion King. Not only was he a strong and powerful king, but he was also kind and wise. All the animals in the forest respected him greatly. However, behind his tough and strong body. Apparently, he was very old. However, he did not have a successor.

However, in the end. The Queen became pregnant despite her old age. All the people were very happy and hoped that the Lion that would be born, could continue the royal throne led by his father. However, all the people did not know that the King had a very greedy nature. He wanted to be the King of the forest forever. He had drunk many potions to stay young.

One day, the King and his guards went on a visit to the southern forest. He left the Queen alone. However, one day after the King's departure, the Queen gave birth to a very healthy boy. Unbeknownst to the King. Apparently, the deer knew that his King had a greedy nature. He also knew that if his son was born, it would make the King furious and would expel the Queen.

The deer felt very sorry and took the King's child to the western forest. When the King returned, the deer immediately reported that his newborn son had died. The king believed what the deer said and was very happy. The deer always visited the King's son and educated him until he grew up to be a strong, clever, tough and very kind Lion cub.

However, a few years later. the King was not as strong as he used to be. Even though he had drunk a lot of potions. It still didn't make him as strong as before. Finally, the King fell ill, he could not get up again and eventually he died. After the King's death, the people were confused about the fate of the forest without a leader. At that moment, the deer came in the middle of the people's confusion with the King's son.

''O people, I have something to tell you. Before the people we love so much died, he left behind a successor capable of leading us all. However, he did not grow up in this forest. He too has a kind and wise nature just like the previous king.''

The young lion came forward to meet the people for the first time. Seeing his arrival, the people cheered and welcomed the new King. His leadership of the new northern forest people made all forest dwellers peaceful, happy and serene.

The moral of The Deer and the Lion is that greed will only bring us bad things in the future. Other people will stay away from people who are greedy.
